Murder on the Mansion Tour
A Historic House Mystery

About this book:

When the Vanderhoof Historical Preservation Trust's most critical donor drops dead in the locked East Wing library—clutching his throat, the scent of bitter almonds hanging in the air—lead docent Ellie Pratt knows this wasn't a heart attack. It was murder, staged amid three-million-dollar endowment checks, a missing 1897 ledger, and a house full of suspects with Gilded Age secrets worth killing for.

Ellie has spent four years protecting Vanderhoof Manor's velvet ropes and fragile floorboards from careless tourists. Now she must navigate a nephew with a grudge, a lawyer with a hidden agenda, a historian clutching explosive research, and an executive director desperate to save the museum's funding—all while a killer watches from the servant's passages. The police see a natural death; Ellie sees a crime scene the preservation society would kill to keep quiet.

From the marble grandeur of the Grand Foyer to the damp secrets of the wine cellar, *Murder on the Mansion Tour* invites you behind the stanchions of a perfectly preserved Gilded Age mansion where every portrait hides a lie, every locked drawer holds a motive, and the next body might be found in the turret. For fans of *The Thursday Murder Club* and *Downton Abbey* with a deadly twist—step past the velvet rope. The tour begins now.
