The Last Cloud Shepherd of Nimbus
A Novel

About this book:

High in the Aether-drenched peaks of Nimbus, sky-whales once carried the world's dreams on currents of living light—until the Great Drying drove them into myth. Now, only twelve-year-old Elara can still hear their song: a resonant hum vibrating in her bones, calling her from a life of copper wash-tubs and village blindness. When a dying juvenile whale crashes near her mountain orphanage, Elara discovers the silver mark on her palm isn't a birthmark—it's a summons. She is the last Cloud Shepherd, heir to a lineage that guided the Colossi through storm and star, and the whales have been waiting centuries for her return.

Fleeing pursuers who fear what they cannot see, Elara takes flight on the back of a creature that shouldn't exist, chasing a migration that never truly ended. From the calcified ribs of ancient leviathans to the luminous fins of dreaming pods, she must relearn the lost language of the sky—where thoughts become weather, memories feed the atmosphere, and a world without dreams suffocates in silence. But the Aether-thin heights hold more than wonder: predators stalk the mists, a betrayal festers above the clouds, and the final leg of the journey demands a vow that could cost Elara everything.

Lyrical and vast, *The Last Cloud Shepherd of Nimbus* is a soaring fantasy about the courage to look upward when everyone else stares down. For readers who crave immersive world-building, mythic stakes, and a heroine who learns that the most powerful magic isn't commanding the sky—it's remembering how to listen.
