Beneath the Echo MTA
A Mystery of Hidden Voices and Lost Souls

About this book:

In the eerie ghost town of Marrow’s End, journalist Callie Thompson stumbles upon a terrifying truth far beyond a simple missing persons report. What begins as an investigation into the disappearance of artist Melanie Shaw quickly unravels into a deep dive into a multi-generational criminal cult, the "Hollow Folk," who practice human sacrifice to appease a sentient, ancient entity dwelling within the Appalachian mountains. Armed with Melanie's cryptic journal and hidden maps, Callie uncovers a chilling history of corruption, murder, and a pervasive conspiracy stretching through local law enforcement, ultimately leading her to the cult's subterranean lair: the "Heart of the Mountain."

As Callie races against time to rescue Melanie, she unmasks powerful figures, including Sheriff Purl and the seemingly benevolent hermit Jedediah Cobb, revealing their complicity in the cult's gruesome "Offerings." Her discoveries lead her not only to Melanie but to "The Secret in the Walls"—a pulsating, crystalline entity the cult calls "The Source," demanding human blood for its sustenance. After a harrowing escape and relaying her findings to state authorities, Callie returns to the mountains as an "attuned" mediator, guided by an elder Keeper's prophecy. She must bridge the gap between ancient belief and modern science to appease the awakened "Great Heart" and avert a catastrophic geological event, all while battling those who seek to bury the full, unsettling truth.
