Summer in Seattle MTA
A Love Story

About this book:

Ben, a reserved editor from Phoenix, arrives in Seattle for a summer internship at Evergreen Literary, seeking to immerse himself in the Pacific Northwest's literary scene. His routine visits to Pike Place Market introduce him to Sarah, a vibrant barista and aspiring café-owner whose passion for storytelling and botanical beauty captivates him. Their connection deepens through shared explorations of Seattle landmarks—from the historic Pioneer Square to the serene Discovery Park—intertwining personal and professional growth as Ben chronicles the city’s creative communities for an ambitious literary magazine project.

As their bond blossoms, Sarah’s dream of opening a café-library, “The Storyteller’s Nook,” becomes a cornerstone of Ben’s feature, reflecting his growing investment in Seattle’s identity and their future together. Their relationship faces emotional challenges when Ben’s internship nears its end, but a heartfelt confession during a storm leads to a mutual commitment to stay in Seattle. Together, they embrace the city’s quirks—including the chaotic Fremont Solstice Parade—and solidify their partnership through spontaneous adventures, shared aspirations, and symbolic gestures like an emerald painting Ben gifts Sarah.

The narrative crescendos with Ben securing a permanent position at Evergreen Literary and Sarah advancing her café plans, culminating in a proposal at Golden Gardens Park. Their love story, rooted in Seattle’s landscapes and communal spirit, evolves into a tale of mutual support and enduring connection. The city, once a temporary escape, transforms into their shared home, where their intertwined dreams—of literature, art, and companionship—find fertile ground.

In the end, their summer in Seattle becomes the prologue to a lifelong journey, marked by promises of collaboration, creativity, and unwavering devotion. The novel closes with their engagement, symbolizing a future where personal and professional narratives merge, embodying the transformative power of place and love.
