Whispers of the Elms MTA
A Mystery of Ancient Forest Secrets

About this book:

In "Whispers of the Elms," botanist Margot Elwood seeks refuge in the ancient, tree-lined town of Eldergrove, hoping to escape a past riddled with loss. But her quiet pursuit of solace is shattered when she unearths a mysterious, green-bound manuscript hidden within the roots of an ancient elm. This cryptic text, written in an unknown "Sylvan Script," quickly plunges Margot into a generations-old mystery involving unexplained disappearances and the townspeople's unsettling reverence for the powerful elms. As she races to decipher the manuscript's secrets, Margot discovers a dark pact between the town's founding families, known as the Circle of Elders, and the sentient forest itself—a pact that demands ritualistic "offerings" of both willing and unwilling souls to sustain Eldergrove's prosperity.

Guided by the vivid "Elmshade whispers" of the trees and a desperate warning from a vanished ancestor of local historian Dr. Elias Blythe, Margot uncovers the horrifying truth: the Eldertide’s original benevolent communion with nature has been twisted into a sinister practice of abduction and sacrifice. With Dr. Blythe's help, she confronts the corrupt Circle of Elders, risking her own life to expose their hidden terror and save an innocent victim from "Becoming the Elm." Ultimately, Margot's journey transforms from a scholarly pursuit into a spiritual quest, culminating in her profound communion with the forest's primal consciousness, helping Eldergrove reclaim its true, harmonious relationship with its ancient, watchful trees.
