A Mystery That Bridges Time and Truth

About this book:

In the winding, mist-shrouded streets of Edinburgh, Detective Isla McGregor stumbles upon a chilling mystery that spans centuries. During a routine investigation at a dilapidated chapel, she unearths a hidden diary belonging to Lady Constance Pembroke, a Victorian amateur sleuth. The diary reveals a series of baffling disappearances from 1888, shockingly mirroring the very cold cases plaguing modern-day Edinburgh. As Isla delves deeper, she realizes these are not mere coincidences, but meticulously replicated crimes orchestrated by a powerful, secretive society known as The Caledonian Coven.

Guided by Lady Constance's audacious investigation and the disturbing theories of a fanatical academic named Dr. Alistair Finch, Isla uncovers a sinister plot involving ancient rituals, "telluric nodes" of power, and the terrifying belief in "bloodlines of command." The Coven’s ultimate aim is not just ritualistic murder, but the summoning and control of "choric forces"—ancient entities seeking to re-embody themselves through human hosts. Isla finds herself walking in Lady Constance’s perilous footsteps, unraveling a conspiracy that draws her into a dangerous web of deception, betrayal, and psychological manipulation, with the Abernathy-Cromwell family—a powerful Edinburgh elite—at its heart. As the date of the "Convergence of the Silent Moon" approaches, Isla races against time to stop the Coven’s most significant ritual, uncover the "terrible truth" Lady Constance died trying to reveal, and prevent a young woman from becoming a living vessel for an ancient evil.
