Before the Melt MTA
A Post-Apocalyptic Survival Tale of Secrets, Betrayal, and Hope

About this book:

In a future drowned by a cataclysmic polar melt, humanity clings to survival on scattered floating cities and precarious mountaintop outposts. Into this watery world steps Mara Bishop, a solitary salvage diver haunted by a past lost to the rising tides. Her life, a constant gamble against pirates, corporate syndicates, and the terrifying mutated creatures of the deep, is irrevocably changed when she discovers a pre-Melt digital journal from the Project Seraphim research facility, a relic tied to a long-buried secret: the myth of dry land.

As Mara navigates treacherous waters and evades relentless pursuit, she uncovers the horrifying truth behind the Melt and her own family's connection to Project Seraphim and its clandestine goals. This isn't just a natural disaster; it's a deliberate act of engineered destruction by a shadowy cabal known as The Architects. The journal, a living key that only Mara can unlock, holds the coordinates to a hidden sanctuary—the Ark—a self-sustaining dry land intended as humanity’s last hope, now sought by every desperate faction for their own ends.

Forging uneasy alliances with unexpected allies, including a reclusive community of data preservers and a powerful, principled pirate queen, Mara must confront the architects of the drowned world and the terrifying, ancient forces their actions have awakened in the ocean's depths. Betrayal lurks around every corner as she races against time to reach the Ark, not just to escape the rising waters, but to broadcast the truth to a world drowning in lies. The journey to humanity’s second chance is a perilous descent into the heart of power, sacrifice, and the enduring resilience of the human spirit.
