CHAPTER ONE: The Landscape of Sweden: An Overview

Sweden is a country shaped by ice and water, a land where vast forests meet sparkling lakes and a long, indented coastline. Situated on the Scandinavian Peninsula, it stretches some 1,000 miles from its southern tip to its northern reaches, a considerable length that creates a dramatic gradient in climate and landscape.
